Giving Women Power Over AIDS On Tour - Europe
"Giving Women Power Over AIDS" is a museum-quality walk-through travelling exhibit. It is comprised of ten double-sided 'pop-up' panels that are 93 cm wide, 2 m high and 26 cm thick, and a one sided seperate panel. On average the entire exhibit requires more or less 56 m˛ (ideally 121 m˛) of space. |
One side of the exhibit displays an adaptation of “In Her Mother’s Shoes”. In 2002, reporter Paula Bock and photographer Betty Udesen of the Seattle Times traveled to Zimbabwe to get a first hand look at the reality of HIV/AIDS. The resulting photo-essay tells the story of Martha, one of some 11 million AIDS orphans in sub-Saharan Africa. To see the photo essay, go to: www.seattletimes.com/aids |
