MICROBICIDES 2006 CONFERENCE Cape Town, South Africa

AMAG/GCM Pre-Conference Workshop

Hosted by the African Microbicides Advocacy Group and the Global Campaign for Microbicides, the Pre-Conference Workshop featured presentations by Dr. Ian McGowan of the UCLA AIDS Institute, Dr. Quarraisha Abdool-Karim of the CAPRISA Women and AIDS Programme, Columbia University and the University of KwaZulu-Natal and Anna Forbes of the Global Campaign for Microbicides.

In the afternoon, participants took part in one of four break-out sessions: Microbicides 101, Microbicides Messaging & Media,  Gender Rights-Based Approaches to Microbicides, and Strategies for National Microbicides Advocacy in the Global South.  Where available, we have provided the presentations and materials from the Pre-Conference Workshop opening and break-out sessions.
